Julie Audet graduated from the National Program (LL.B./LL.L.) at the University of Ottawa with the highest honours in 1996. In December 2010, she successfully completed her Master Degree in Family Law with the University of York. Julie teaches family law at the University of Ottawa since 2008 and is currently leading the Family Law component of the Law Society of Upper Canada's Law Practice Program (French). She has been a guest speaker in various family law conferences in Ontario and Quebec. In 2014 she published « L'essentiel du droit de la famille dans les provinces et territories de common law au Canada », a book co-authored by her and the late Professor Nicole Laiolette.

Julie has practiced family law in both French and English for the past sixteen years, both as a partner in an Ottawa-based firm and for the past five years as the owner of her own family law office, Audet Professional Corporation. Julie is a co-founder of ALT Divorce, a group of separation and divorce centers which offer new, holistic and multi-disciplinary services to separating families. While Julie continues to appear before all levels of court as a family lawyer, her practice focusses on mediation (including lawyer-assisted mediation) and collaborative family law services and she is an active member of various family court-connected committees as well as many other legal associations. Julie is also the co-founder of Family Law in a Box, a web-based family law information and resource center through which separating couples are provided with information, tools and educational programs on family law topics.

Julie is dedicated to help her clients resolve all issues stemming from their separation collaboratively, and to "divorce with dignity".
